Aviation Programs Manager
Overview We are seeking a full-time Aviation Programs Manager in our Scottsdale, AZ or Chandler, AZ locations. In this role, you will be responsible for acting as primary program support for customers and ensuring effective programmatic practices and communication with customers and internal stakeholders in addition to managing customer aircraft configurations, advanced aircraft performance questions, change requests, and aircraft weight & balances changes. Essential Functions Provides advanced technical customer service/support related to transport category aircraft performance and weight & balance activities Acts as primary program support for customer inquiries and program execution Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in all customer contact and team activities Demonstrates effective program management skills on programs and projects to ensure communications, scope, effort, milestones/schedule, risk management, and strategy are aligned with Garmin’s initiatives, business model, and customer relationships May lead product or service definition and creation of technical proposals and related documentation Negotiates requirements with customer; documents/disseminates for internal stakeholders May assist in generating or updating relative policies and procedures May create, modify and/or provide training material and classes Serves as a mentor for lower levels within career path Performs technical market research in support of product or service definition and/or business development initiatives with guidance Coordinates technical roadmaps for presentation to customers with guidance May act as lead on a large and complex program spanning multiple resources across different groups Acts as primary coordinator for internal resources to support customer executive review May define and/or develop tools that span multiple projects or programs Provides technical content for system, product, or service design/description documentation Leads in creation and maintenance of program-specific Statement of Works (SOWs) or technical proposals Applies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed Performs on-call duty and after hours on-call coverage may be required Leads special projects as assigned Ability to travel for customer support, business development, and training Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Business or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 5 years of relative aviation industry experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Operational knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft operations with 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 experience preferred Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills and assists with troubleshooting services or products in the field Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems, must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Desired Qualifications Pilot’s License Previous work experience in Airline or Charter Operations, Air Traffic Control, Flight Dispatching, Flight Operations, or Aviation Program/Project Management Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
