Aviation Systems Architect

**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for an **Aviation Systems Architect** to work in our Hughes Network Systems division. This role will lead the system definition, requirements management, architectural design, and integration and testing of aviation solutions through the full product lifecycle. This position will work with technical teams to define and integrate solutions that exceed customer expectations, adhere to quality objectives, and address product, market, and regulatory requirements.
**Responsibilities** :
+ Define the solution level architecture, technical scope, and key interfaces of the system.
+ Write technical system requirements derived from market and customer requirements.
+ Author interface control documents, system descriptions, whitepapers, and other key technical documents for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Work with software, hardware, and network engineering to ensure that the implementation of the technical solution complies with system requirements.
+ Define and execute test procedures to validate system functionality and performance. Identify and manage test environments and equipment as needed.
+ Act as the technical focal to customers, OEMs, partners, and subcontractors for key pursuits and projects. Participate in technical meetings and design reviews.
+ Work with internal and external stakeholders to document technical scope and level of effort for each discipline.
+ This position requires occasional travel up to 20%.
**Basic Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation or related technical field
+ 3+ years of relevant experience.
+ Prior experience of satcom connectivity systems, avionics, and commercial aircraft installations.
+ Prior experience with Supplemental Type Certificates (STC)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of relevant experience
+ Proven technical competency in developing system requirements and defining system architecture.
+ Ability to influence a variety of stakeholders to establish technical concurrence.
+ Strong knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle, including requirements development, design, implementation, testing and deployment.
+ Basic knowledge of FAA/EASA processes
+ Solid time-management skills and self-discipline.
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Familiarity with requirements management tools.
+ Experience working at an aircraft manufacturer, MRO, or manufacturer of aircraft connectivity products
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
