Job Summary

The Aviation Training Manager is responsible for the leadership and day to day operations of assigned aircraft programs. Responsible for Check Pilot schedule. Maintains training schedule for assigned aircraft and informs ACP of reduction of capacity. Develops standards and observes Check Pilot Training. Assists with training of new Check Pilots. Coordinates with ACP for long range capacity. Conducts training and evaluation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:  

Responsible for the leadership and day to day operations of assigned aircraft programsResponsible for Check Pilot schedulesAssists in development and implementation of flight and ground training schedulesMaintain the training schedule for assigned aircraft and informs ACP of reduction of capacityAssist the ACP to manage FTO requestsObserve and audit Check Pilot TrainingAssist in training new Check PilotsCoordinate with ACP for long range capacityAssist the CP and ACP in all pilot record keeping requirements in accordance with applicable FARs and policies to include external records auditsWill maintain Check Pilot qualification in at least one of the program aircraftWill carry out the duties of an Air Methods Check Pilot conducting aircraft ground school, flight training and evaluationsAssist with covering Check Pilot and training shortagesOther duties as assigned

Ability to be available for operational requirementsIndicate the percentage of time spent traveling - 50%

Supervisory Responsibilities

While this role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, the Aviation Training Manager will assist the Chief Pilot and Assistant Chief Pilot with interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Bachelor’s degree preferred5 years as an Air Methods Instructor/Check Airman experience preferredATP rating in aircraft category preferredCommercial/Instrument rating requiredMust meet total flight hour requirements

CFI / CFII (Rotor wing) preferred.
