Program Summary

Acquisition focused support roles spanning Milestone A to Milestone C is required for what is essentially two programs within one. This Office is looking for the best and brightest talent supporting the Air Force Acquisition process.
Job Summary
KBR is seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to support the acquisition of Tanker Recap/NGAS (Next Generation Air refueling System) systems and dissect the integration of advanced avionics and sensor systems and subsystems for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/WLY). Candidate should be experienced and successful at solving complex system integration and engineering issues, enjoy working in a dynamic, responsive, and collaborative environment, and dedicated to the success of our customers against advanced, persistent threats.
Roles and Responsibilities
Knowledge of systems engineering principles, verification and validation of requirements, and understanding the Air Force’s acquisition processes is requiredGuide and mentor the USG engineering force how to comply with the principles of Government Reference Architectures as a part of their daily dutiesWork concepts for MAF Connectivity enterprise (C3BM, JADC2, ABMS, etc.)Assist in defining lower-level technical details (e.g. data rates, message formats, etc.)Support our engagement with partners to develop Communication/Connectivity LRU and capabilities for Tanker Recap and MAF; and specifically with KC-46 and KC-135.Includes working with all of WL DivisionsRoll these into our lower-level systems requirements; along with OEMs These requirements will update the PPP/ISP/AT Plans, etc.Utilize digital system models to document these requirements/interfaces/etcProvide technical inputs, assessments and management of program engineering efforts in support of the acquisition strategy for each caseCoordinate with program manager for specific design requirement and understand the requirement for the tasksAbility to Draft, review, coordinate, and update (as necessary) Engineering Analysis documentsStrong communication skills with customers, end users, and analysts in order to provide recommended contractual language to specific test-related sections of solicitationsPerform other duties as assigned by managementBasic Qualifications
BS in Engineering or related field and 15+ years of directly related experience is requiredExperience with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Government Reference Architecture (GRA) Current experience and knowledge of the DoD acquisition processes and other service specific requirements is preferredIdeal candidate would have experience with system engineering processes and experience with Avionics and sensor analysisActive DOD Top Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications
