Avionics Installer I
**Join a team known for elevating careers and soar to new heights!** **Position Purpose:** The **Avionics Installer I** works under moderate supervision to assist with the removal, installation, modification, and testing of avionics electrical components and systems. The position involves fabricating wire harnesses, installing avionics systems, performing terminations, conducting functional tests, and assisting in other electrical assembly tasks. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with a foundational knowledge of electrical systems and a desire to grow within the aviation industry. **Key Responsibilities:** **Essential Functions:** 1. **Avionics Installation and Modification:** 2. Assist with the installation, modification, and fabrication of wiring, electrical components, fixtures, and related equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings. 3. Perform terminations and ring-outs of avionics/electrical systems to ensure proper functioning. 4. **System Testing and Troubleshooting:** 5. Assist with functional tests and diagnostics of avionics and electrical systems to ensure systems operate according to specifications. 6. Use a multimeter to test electrical connections, circuits, and components to identify issues. 7. **Timely Task Completion:** 8. Support the completion of tasks within the specified time frame while maintaining quality and attention to detail. 9. **Documentation and Recordkeeping:** 10. Assist with maintaining required logs and records, ensuring all installations and tests are properly documented. 11. **Compliance with Safety and Company Programs:** 12. Adhere to all company programs, including the FOD (Foreign Object Damage) program, tool control program, 5S program, and all safety regulations. **Additional Functions:** 1. **Shop Equipment Maintenance:** 2. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned by the Supervisor. 3. **Other Duties:** 4. Perform other duties as assigned to support the avionics installation and testing process. **Qualifications:** + **Education:** High School Diploma or GED required. + **Experience:** + Six (6) months of accredited schooling in aviation electronics or general electrical experience preferred. + Prior electrical or avionics experience is a plus but not required for entry-level candidates. + **Technical Skills:** + Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components. + Ability to use basic electrical tools, including multimeters. + Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, schematic diagrams, and engineering drawings. + **Certifications (Preferred):** + Technical Certificate in aircraft electrical assembly or successful completion of a current-year youth apprenticeship program sponsored by Gulfstream. + **Skills:** + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Computer skills and general knowledge of software programs. + Ability to work both individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. + Basic knowledge of common hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wire strippers, pliers). **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + Ability to work in confined spaces or on elevated platforms as needed. + Ability to stand for long periods and work in a manufacturing/production environment. **Work Environment:** + Work is performed in a shop or manufacturing environment. + Must adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. + Work may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, and other industrial elements. **Additional Information:** + This is an entry-level position ideal for candidates with a background in electrical systems or avionics and a desire to gain experience in the aviation industry. + Ongoing training and development opportunities will be provided to help you grow in your role. **Pay Details:** $25.66 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
