ResponsibilitiesThe AVP, Senior Pricing Actuary reports to the Chief Actuarial Officer and is responsible for the reinsurance treaty pricing function. Key functions include but are not limited to:
Independently analyze and price reinsurance submissions and provide recommendationsWork closely with underwriters to help them understand the conclusions and the key assumptions built into the pricing analysisEffectively communicate findings and results to internal and external stakeholders and all levels of management as requiredPresent pricing findings to the company President and serve as a key member in the referral processDevelop, maintain and enhance actuarial pricing tools and parametersTrain, mentor and develop junior staffSupport reserving, financial reporting, management reporting, Enterprise Risk Management functions as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or math preferredFCAS or ACAS Designation strongly preferred10 years of property casualty actuarial experience is required. Hands-on experience in reinsurance treaty pricing is preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiencesStrong work ethic, project management skills and multi-tasking skills in meeting deadlines. The ability to work overtime during busy season is expected for this position Advanced proficiency in MicroSoft Office Suite is requiredExperience in at least one of the advanced technical programming and modeling tools (RMS, AIR, ReMetrica or MetaRisk) is a plusProgramming experience in VBA, R, Python, SQL or similar is a plusAble to work on-site in Stamford, CT 4 days a week Additional Company Details We do not accept any unsolicited resumes from external recruiting agencies or firms.The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees.
