About This Job
This position is responsible for overseeing post origination routine and complex mortgage customer service events and managing a team of staff. This position involves researching and resolving escalated situations that might lead to litigation or provide specialized customer service. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in all areas of mortgage/consumer loan servicing and have experience in dealing with legal documents and the life of a loan. This position involves customer contact, internal and external interested party contact, banking centers, attorneys, title agencies and county recorders.This position does NOT include daily payment or escrow processing, loss mitigation, or managing the primary customer service contact center though knowledge of these processes may be necessary to accurately assess the situation. It will include managing processes such as, but not limited to, insurance claim disbursements, holdback releases, customer-initiated PMI removal, cross and partial collateral releases, transfer of ownership, assumption requests, and successor-in-interest processing as examples.
The incumbent is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, training staff as needed, following policies and procedures as defined, as well as updating or creating policies and procedures as necessary. This role is accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. The incumbent operates within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting risks of all types.
Responsibilities:
Managing on-site and remote employees, some of whom may be overseas, and who are expected to prepare most of the routine items for your approval •
Following, maintaining, and developing policies and procedures
Updating various workbooks and templates as needed
Responding to routine QC and audit requests
Completing staff performance reviews
Creating training material as needed
Knowing and keeping up to date with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and portfolio loan servicing requirements
Overseeing various post origination events pertaining to mortgages: Insurance claims, customer initiated PMI removal, Holdback releases, Cross and partial collateral releases, Transfer of ownership, Assumption requests, Successor-in-interest requests, SCRA requests, Escalated complex customer service matters that may require extensive research, and other various post origination matters
Designing and requesting reports through our reporting team as needed •
Receives and process letters, phone calls, faxes and emails from customers, attorneys and affiliates Obtain and research loan files and history transactions for required information, use alternate sources to complete research such as county house and tax assessor websites
Preparing CIF change requests according to document review or management request
Perform projects assigned by management
Order, maintain, and return loan files for the department
Review and sometimes prepare letters to customers in coordination with legal for Trust approvals, LLC letters, Direction to Convey, Consent of easements, handle subsidy requests from different social programs, such as VA/County assistance and Section 8
Receive Subordination requests, obtain review documentation from new lender or our file, and submit to management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years' of banking work experience
Single-Family Rental (SFR) portfolio servicing experience
Management experience
