AVP, Field Operations

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring a well-trained, highly motivated workforce to provide exceptional customer service for all field activities in assigned management areas. Ensure solid execution of the company’s standardized processes and business rules in the areas of Field Operations engineering, plant maintenance, residential fulfillment and service, construction, contractor management, TQA, safety, and technical training.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the management of the daily operation of all activities supporting the field operations including all installation, service, and line activities as well as overseeing all employees and projects in those areas ensuring that the work is handled expediently and within Charter specifications.Contribute to the company’s strategies for assigned area through the preparation of business fulfillment plans, budgeting and forecastingProvide direction to field management for overall fulfillment of operations including technical, construction, system maintenance, safety, Field Ops engineering, TQA and cost controlsDevelop appropriate work productivity, quality and overtime standards for all field technicians; ensure quotas and staffing aligns with business goals and trended future volume of activity. Create business partner relationships to ensure staffing levels are metDirects implementation of policies and proceduresEnforce government regulations with regard to cable operations and employment lawsManage complex projects to ensure timelines and flawless execution are obtainedReview and analyze Field Ops metrics, evaluate variances with Managers and establish appropriate action plans for improvementDevelop and maintain an effective organization through selection, training and development, compensation and motivation of staff in assigned systemsPerform other duties as requested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write speak and understand EnglishAbility to communicate in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional mannerAbility to communicate in a public forumAbility to organize, plan and implement budgets and business plansAbility to think beyond own function; considers strategic issues that support overall businessDemonstrates broad, long-term perspectiveAbility to work with customers, public officials and agenciesAbility to direct large unit or several complex functionsAbility to contribute to the organization through strategy definition and implementationKnowledge of cable television products and servicesAbility to delegate responsibilities for functional tasksKnowledge of federal, state and local franchise and cable regulationsKnowledge of government process at the federal, state and local levelsStrong analytical and organizational skillsComprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state.Comprehensive understanding of HFC and IP network operations.

Education
Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent
