This is an exciting opportunity to join a recently re-branded Berkley Product Protection team (previously called Berkley Global Product Recall).  The team consists of product recall and liability specialists and is focused on a sustainable recall offering and its expansion into admitted/non-admitted product liability. Responsibilities

This position is a critical member of the underwriting team reporting to the SVP/Chief Underwriting Officer. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with wholesale and retail brokers, while providing them with a stable market and admitted/non-admitted paper for the more difficult to place underwriting risks. This person will develop and maintain agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions using underwriting rules, designated authority, and collaboration as needed.  

 

This role can be located in our Chicago, Dallas, or Atlanta office on a hybrid schedule. 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sales and Marketing of General Liability and Excess/Umbrella products to existing and new brokers (with product exposures)Underwrites, structures, and prices profitable general liability and excess/umbrella business. Interfaces with claims, loss control, billing, and audit as necessaryTravels to industry events and broker meetings, as necessaryProactively reviews insurance offerings including wording, proposals and endorsementsActs as a liability resource to BPP teammates and to other functional areas.Keeps current on emerging issues and trends in the liability sphere.

Qualifications Minimum of 7-10 years commercial liability underwriting experience, with 3-5 years of product exposure underwriting idealExperience with, or strong knowledge of, loss sensitive approaches (deductible and/or SIRs) is preferred.Demonstrated technical underwriting expertise and product specific knowledgeStrong analytical and problem-solving skills in addition to strong interpersonal, communication & negotiation skillsDemonstrated proficiency in sales and marketingStrong written and verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skillsExemplifies superior teamwork Ability to travel 15-25%Bachelor's degree Additional Company Details We do not accept any unsolicited resumes from external search firms.
