As AVP Programs, Commercial Auto & Warranty, you will have the opportunity to craft the strategy for our Programs & Portfolios commercial auto and warranty business. This role calls for a leader to apply innovative and creative solutions to a highly regulated product line (Auto) and product suite (Warranty) that is adjacent and complimentary to Auto products. The critical areas for evolution are sales execution, distribution channel development, telematics applications and meeting operational challenges to retain, grow and diversify the book.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the underwriting strategy for these products and the Programs channel of distribution. You will ensure the technical and professional expertise in the underwriting performance. You will provide leadership to train, and mentor a team of underwriters to achieve excellence within the Programs & Portfolios team. You will provide mentorship and expertise to the broader Commercial Insurance business and will be responsible for a range of large, sophisticated, programs & portfolios and projects. You will implement your strategy retaining, building and managing relationships with top distribution partners, clients and buying groups that will require a multi-dimensional and innovative tactical approach. This leader will adopt in-flight projects and cases with internal partners and apply their point of view and decision-making to execution.

What You'll Do:Strategy
Build and communicate the long-term strategy for Program Auto P&L, bringing to bear external opportunities in highly creative and effective ways.
Lead and complete initiatives to grow the book of business and achieve profitability.
Manage the P&L to support Programs ambitions and the overall GCS strategy.
Accountable for pipeline development and conversion within existing programs, as well as the development of new commercial auto programs.
Foster high levels of 'One Aviva' underwriter collaboration on cross/up-sell across P&C business.
Activate and apply vital Aviva resources to support the P&L, including Distribution, CTU, ARMS, Claims, CRM, QA, Marketing/Communications.
Monitor and analyze business performance, developing underwriting action plans to address team results, with strong analysis of driving factors.
Ensure execution of external audits of delegated program underwriters.
Manage the Programs commercial auto team to ensure underwriting quality, service standards, and alignment with GCS objectives.
Collaborate with the VP Programs to complete Warranty distribution, sales, systems, and operational cases and strategy.
Be the key relationship builder for new contacts and grow existing business.
Develop new products, segments, and distribution channels to support strategy.
Provide expert counsel and partnership to important collaborators.

Report on Loss Events in a timely manner, investigating and remediating to prevent recurrence.
Consider key risks and risk appetite during decision-making and planning.
What You’ll Bring:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
CIP designation or equivalent experience.
10+ years’ experience in commercial segments.
Commercial Programs & Portfolio management and underwriting experience.
Large, individual account commercial insurance experience is an asset.
Credibility as an industry and market segment specialist.
Extensive strategic and change delivery experience with the ability to bring strategy to life.
Strong communication skills, adapting to all levels and audiences.
Proven ability to influence prospects and effectively sell Aviva.
