Salary range: $136K to $150K*
*New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

Position Overview:
The AVP, Community Engagement will work closely with the VP, Strategic Impact to develop strategic community-based relationships and expand Vibrant’s footprint to deepen organizational impact and programmatic reach. The AVP will lead new events, initiatives, coalitions, and speaking opportunities to bring new and diverse groups into Vibrant and broaden the reach and service of community-based programs with an equity-focused lens. This highly collaborative and passionate individual will rigorous decision-making for programmatic growth, build trusting environments for partnership, expand and implement strategic direction for the organization, and lead Vibrant’s collaborative efforts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of strategic relationship management, public speaking and engagement, event moderation, program design, knowledge of trends in behavioral health, and a true mission-driven approach to partnership and program reach.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership
+ Support Vibrant leadership in all aspects of pursuit and development of new partnerships that drive community enrichment, engagement, and expansion of service
+ Support due diligence activities and engagement with potential impact partners
+ Serve in department leadership role, prioritizing team morale, support, and a curiosity that fosters a human-centered service-oriented environment with kindness, joy, and passion for Vibrant’s mission.
+ Ensure successful implementation and ongoing relationship management of external partners
+ Serve as thought partner to inform RFP and grant writing efforts with revenue-driving activities in pursuit of new funds to expand Vibrant’s impact
+ Oversee teams leading community programs, managing small teams’ daily activities, growth trajectories, and managing towards success in their roles
+ Serve as thought partner to inform Marketing and Communications efforts with public awareness and storytelling about Program success
+ Collaborate with Vibrant leadership to design and support new and ongoing partnership strategies
+ Assist with the creation of a business case to support new initiatives
+ Foster collaborative relationships and partnerships with subject matter experts and organizations aiming to expand their outreach to historically excluded groups.
+ Provide subject matter expertise on equity in service, providing education and awareness on research, data, challenges, and behavioral health disparities as needed.
Public Representation and Community Engagement
+ Lead Vibrant public engagement efforts through presentations, attendance at events, committee representation and other aligned collaborative coalitions
+ Collaborate across departments to develop a Vibrant-wide Speakers Bureau to deepen the organizational know-how, capacity, and talent to represent Vibrant at presentations, meetings, committees, and other relevant public engagements
+ Work with Marketing and Communications, VP, Strategic Impact, and Program leadership to develop effective Program public speaking talking points to align in public communications about work and Vibrant
+ Work with other departments to develop internal trainings on public speaking
+ Bring in new platform opportunities for Vibrant executive leadership to present and speak
+ Develop, plan, manage, moderate committees driven by subject matter experts that inform Vibrant’s services
+ Collaborate with Strategic Impact, Programs, 988, Experiential and other partnership-driven verticals to align on impactful events that bring in public partners
+ Monitor trends in diversity in the behavioral health industry, recommend best practices and emerging trends to inform program development in support of historically excluded groups
+ Research, identify, and pursue new aligned opportunities for Vibrant presence
+ Research, identify, and develop a strategic plan for networks, committees, and areas of representation that Vibrant is not currently at, should be at, and how it plans to get there
Systems Creation
+ Track and manage partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding that structure community-based partnerships
+ Work with others on the team to build mechanisms to track and report status of partnership engagement metrics and growth KPI’s
+ Create standards of practice for committee representation decorum, information-sharing, and relationship tracking
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health discipline, public administration, or public health
+ 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in community development, program strategy in behavioral health, public health, or social services
+ Experience supervising and leading teams
Required Skills/Abilities:
+ Exceptional public speaking skills and talent to train others
+ Exceptional moderation skill with strong ability to engage diverse perspectives in meaningful discussion
+ Knowledge of, experience with, and interest in dimensions of diversity that result from different identities and backgrounds and how they intersect with mental health
+ Exceptional oral and written communication skills
+ Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills
+ RFP, proposal and grant writing experience a plus
+ Approach challenges with conflict resolution lens and optimism for ultimate success
Physical Requirements:
+ Regular travel and public interaction required to New York City
+ Ability to use standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone
+ Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, families, service providers, and others
+ Ability to remain calm and composed under stress
+ Ability to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation
+ Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make independent judgment/decisions
