The AVP of Assessment oversees the behavioral health business line strategies and initiatives that enable greater access to patient care. Directs patient assessment processes in the free-standing behavioral health hospitals while supporting best practice development for intake procedures in managed behavioral health units. Leads and develops team members in related hospital and behavioral health division departments.

Position Details

What you will do in this role:

Collaborates with Divisional, Market and Facility leaders to identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities in assessment policies and procedures.Monitors and measures success of strategic initiatives, including tracking volume, payor mix, referral sources, and other operational performance metrics.Supports HSC leaders in development of best practices for BHU intake process and procedures.Ensure those conducting patient assessments in behavioral health facilities receive training and development and proper oversight, adhering to all applicable regulations.Oversee all behavioral health assessment policies and procedures, standards of performance, and communication regarding assessment issues.Identify and correct barriers in admissions process.Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, and onboarding on Directors of Assessment within assigned group BH facilities.Assists in coordinating the opening of new hospitals.Assesses, coaches and develops teams’ skills, holds team accountable to high standards.Knowledgeable in all CMS, Joint Commission, EMTLA, and State regulations and standards of performance. Regularly audits function to ensure compliance.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling required. Experience in a behavioral healthcare assessment functional area. Experience in leadership of a behavioral healthcare assessment team.
Clinical license required.
