*Description* *Summary* The AVP assumes leadership responsibility for the operation of Nuvance Health Nursing Professional Development in a manner consistent with the strategy and direction set by the Chief Academic Officer and Chief Nursing Executive Officer of Nuvance Health. The AVP will develop a collaborative partnership with the Beatrice Hofstadter White Endowed Chair for Nursing Practice, Education, Research and Innovation. Additional responsibilities include the duties and the authority, responsibility and accountability for the direction, development and implementation of but not limited to: Nursing Orientation, Nursing Education and Training, Nursing Quality Improvement standards and regulatory compliance; Nursing Clinical Affiliations, and Nursing Practice/ Governance Committees. Education and Experience 1. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Master’s degree in nursing, Nursing Administration, or Hospital Administration is required. Nursing Doctorate is preferred; Doctoral program enrollment required within two years of start date. 2. Minimum of at least five years in progressively responsible experience in supervisory/management within an acute hospital setting is required. 3. Experience in education is required. 4. Current New York State and Connecticut State Registered Nurse license. Certification in a nursing specialty preferred.
