The Tax Sr. Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual. **_Business/ Department Objectives :_** Responsible for in-scope processes related to multiple Citi lines of business within the centralized Tax Information Reporting function. This position supports compliance with the regulatory risk through accurate and timely reporting and enhanced due diligence on customer accounts. The incumbent is expected to migrate information reporting work from various sub-units within the Business Line into Tax Information Reporting; this process includes training and job shadowing, building documentation such as procedures and process flows, and identifies gaps in the process based on IRS regulations. In addition, the incumbent will support a specific business vertical and is expected to provide tax technical guidance to the team and develop and enhance the teams product knowledge. This is an Operations manager role within the tax information reporting and managing various processes covering Tax form validation, Pre-FATCA reporting, CRS across businesses and is expected to manage the Service delivery of the businesses. **Responsibilities:** + Responsible for the overall management of the tax liabilities, of Citi, both directly and in connection with transactions with clients, including the related compliance, financial reporting, planning and controversy processes. + Contributes to the planning, accounting, filing and the reporting of tax liability of the company. + Assists in determining and compiling information required to satisfy income tax filing and related requirements at all levels of jurisdiction. + May participate in managing payments to tax authorities in compliance with specific tax regulations. + Resolves complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines or processes. + Manages one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and considered analytical or procedural "expert" representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables. + Directs day-to-day work of junior level employees. + Perform other duties and functions as assigned + Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. + Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. + Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members. + Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. + Manage the tax information reporting operations. + Review and coordinate queries received from Local Tax Authorities for FATCA & CRS + Enhance Tax Information Reporting capabilities in Mumbai in partnership with the + Ensure strong controls are put in place from and Operations and Audit perspective, ensure satisfactory results for any process reviews done internally or by the Stakeholders. Self-identification of the risks (if any) and remedial and preventive plan. + Act as a tax / information reporting specialist to execute the FATCA advisory/rollout, Systems conversions/rollouts. + Executes the tax information reporting processes to products issued by Citi’s business + Migration of work into our centralized hub + Develop "Go To" processes and implement appropriate procedures/ controls to Ensure consistent compliance with Information Reporting & FATCA requirements + Ensure adherence to KPI’s and KRI’s for the team + Support the process improvements / reengineering initiatives. + Support Tax Information Reporting Service Delivery / Engagement model with client constituency and other key stakeholders + Identify and participate in process reengineering & redesign to achieve better controls, compliance and efficiency + Support audits with IRS and Internal Audit (IA), and any other special audits. + Participate in self-assessment testing, MCA, audits with IRS Or Citi's IA. + Ensure tight controls over owned processes to include key controls and Continuity Of Business + Manager Review, validation process of W-8 and W-9 tax forms and related Documentation according to IRS Chapter 3, chapter 61, Section 3406 and FATCA + Support Technology projects from a technical tax perspective + Contribute towards departmental requirement to adhere to strict regulatory and Compliance requirements, per IRS and Citi policy. + Perform reviews of written tax policy and procedures, research and respond to inquiries from operational areas + Handle Tax reporting for US and Non US legislations **Qualifications:** + 5-8+ years of relevant experience + 8-10 years of relevant experience + Expertise in FATCA and CRS Reporting including 1099 and 1042 + Expert in FATCA and CRS due diligence process **Education:** + Bachelors degree ------------------------------------------------------ **Job Family Group:** Finance ------------------------------------------------------ **Job Family:** Tax ------------------------------------------------------ **Time Type:** Full time ------------------------------------------------------ Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
