Summary You will serve as a AWARDS ASSISTANT in the AWARDS OFFICE BRANCH of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND. Responsibilities You will assist the Awards Administrator, performing a variety of administrative functions concerning military and civilian personnel awards. You will assist in developing and disseminating a variety of promotional materials and ideas to promote and stimulate the Military Cash Awards Program/Beneficial Suggestion Program. You will generate spreadsheets, conducts studies/research to obtain data from which to evaluate the FLTFORCOM civilian and military awards program effectiveness. You will prepare and analyzes a variety of statistical reports to depict program progress or to direct attention to specific program features. You will assist in all phases of processing, preparing, and recording award recommendations received from the staff and subordinate commands. You will be responsible for processing all Department of Navy (DON) and Department of Defense (DOD) awards through the board process. You will be responsible for procuring and maintaining sufficient quantities of supplies associated with the processing of military and civilian awards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a GS-06, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing a variety of administrative functions concerning military and civilian personnel awards. Experience providing a variety of administrative and clerical support. Experience conducting research to obtain data for which to evaluate the USFFC civilian and military awards program effectiveness. Experience developing office automation to improve award process efficiency. Experience preparing and analyzing a variety of statistical reports to depict program progress or to direct attention to specific program features. Experience utilizing online databases to generate spreadsheets. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585. Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
