Position: AWS Engineer

Job Description: 

Forward Air is seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an AWS Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring that applications and systems are efficient, secure, and scalable. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to drive cloud adoption, automate processes, and maintain high availability of mission-critical applications.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure to support business needs Implement and optimize scalable and reliable cloud solutions using AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, IAM, and more Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible Work with development teams to integrate cloud services and ensure seamless deployment of applications Monitor and troubleshoot AWS resources, including performance monitoring, cost optimization, and disaster recovery Implement security best practices for AWS services, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption Design and execute cloud migration strategies for legacy applications Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth, automated deployment processes Provide AWS-related guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders Stay updated on AWS best practices, new services, and industry trends Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience Proven experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its services Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring in AWS Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes is a plus Familiarity with AWS multi-account management via a single management account Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Bash, or similar Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions in a timely manner Strong communication and collaboration skills

Skills:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional level Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway) Experience in working with databases such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and RedShift Experience with cost optimization and budgeting on AWS Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
