GFL Environmental is looking for a DZ/AZ Commercial Box Truck Operator to join our growing liquid team out of our Ottawa location. The Commercial driver will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and customer service, which will be used to consistently build positive customer relationships and to promote GFL’s wide range of service offerings.

 

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for daily pre and post trip inspections of trucks assigned  

Complete daily routes assigned by the scheduling TEAM

Provide an exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote GFL’s service offerings

Operate a box truck, deliver products, and pick up commercial wastes such as oil filters, Plastics, drums of automotive fluids, as well as other related products. Also, service Parts washers/Spray Gun Machines 

Complete service paperwork in accordance with GFL and TDG regulations

Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components, and other assigned equipment

Participate in GFL’s safety programs including safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

DZ/AZ Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract

Must be available for day shift Monday-Friday

Ability to drive manual transmission (Required)

Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques

Able to work independently

Customer service experience

Self-motivated attitude

Experience working in a safety sensitive environment

Ability to work out of town and do potential overnights

Must be flexible and dependable

Strong work ethic

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in difficult situations

Overtime as required

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required

Waste experience is considered an asset
