The Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform with a focus on azure government cloud. You will collaborate with our development and operations teams to understand their requirements, provide solutions, and automate the deployment and configuration of applications and services using Azure DevOps, Terraform, or other tools.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable with Microsoft cloud technologies, both from the IT infrastructure and IT applications perspective. The candidate must be a self-starter, quick learner of new technology (virtual infrastructure, containers, databases etc.), and be highly motivated.
In this role you will:
Work in tandem with our solutions architects and systems engineering team to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company and its customers.Develop and implement capabilities to reduce time to delivery of platforms through orchestration and automation.Manage Serco’s cloud environments in accordance with company enterprise architecture and security guidelines.Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.Automate repetitive, manually time-consuming O&M tasks.Assist in administration and operational activities including monitoring, support, and maintenance of Azure workloads.Help in reducing operational incidents through standardization and process improvements.Educate and mentor system engineering team on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they cascade into problems.Use your extensive knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed.Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.Monitor and maintain the availability, performance, and security of our Azure infrastructure.Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
