**Azure Kubernetes Service Administrator**
**About the Role**
This position is part of a software development and maintenance team developing and supporting tolling back-office products. These industry leading products support the collection of tolls and the associated operations for a number of the country’s largest tolling agencies. The AKS Administrator will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, and optimizing AKS clusters and will work closely with development, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure teams to streamline deployment processes.
**Responsibilities**
+ AKS cluster management - Provision, configure, and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters. Manage and optimize the lifecycle of AKS clusters, including upgrades and scaling. Ensure high availability and reliability of AKS workloads.
+ Container Orchestration and Deployment - Manage containerized applications and microservices in Kubernetes. Work with CI/CD tools to automate the deployment of containerized applications. Monitor and manage container lifecycle, including health checks, rollouts, and scaling.
+ Security and Compliance - Implement and maintain security best practices within the AKS environment.
+ Monitoring and Troubleshooting - Monitor AKS clusters, nodes, and workloads using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
+ Networking and Storage Configuration - Configure networking components such as load balancers, ingress controllers, and network policies. Manage persistent storage and configure storage classes for AKS workloads.
+ Automation and Scripting - Develop automation scripts using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Helm or ARM templates.
+ Active participation in system performance tests and application tuning
+ Provide leadership to other team members to deliver high quality systems on schedule
+ Consult with solution architects, system support teams, database administrators and application teams on solution architecture, system, database and application design
**Requirements**
+ Azure Administrator Certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
+ 4+ years of experience with Kubernetes, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience managing AKS.
+ 10+ years of software engineering experience or similar field.
+ Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Azure, and managing cloud-native applications.
+ Proficiency in Kubernetes concepts such as pods, services, deployments, config maps, and secrets.
+ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
+ Strong knowledge of containerization tools like Docker.
+ Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
+ Understanding of networking concepts, including load balancers, ingress controllers, and DNS.
+ Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Azure Monitor.
+ Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
+ Implementation experience with KEDA (Kubernetes Event-Driven Autoscaling)
+ Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio.
+ Knowledge of DevOps principles and agile development methodologies.
+ Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex Kubernetes issues.
+ Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
+ Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science (M.S. in computer science preferred) or related field

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $101,063 - $131,250
