Back End Engineer
**Back End Engineer** **Location:** This role offers the flexibility of being hybrid or home-based for qualified candidates in the United States. Preferably located in/near Philadelphia. **Position Summary:** Develop and support AI pipelines with computer vision ML-derived geospatial assets leveraging Kubernetes cloud services in GCP and Azure. Massive data ingestion pipelines to ensure a continuous and reliable flow of image/video/GIS data into cloud-based datastores. Massive geospatial asset curation, management, and conversion to WFS\WMS\glTF\3DTile open standards leveraging off-the-shelf 3D\GIS datastores and services including CesiumJS\PostGIS\Geoserver\Geomesa\ArcGIS Pro. **Requirements** : + BS in computer science or equivalent degree + **At least 5 years’ experience as a software engineer with specific experience in data engineering. At least 3 years leveraging DevOps practices with an active cloud product: infrastructure as code\automation\monitoring of dev\QA\prod environments, security\compliance, and performance optimization** + **Experience with C#, Typescript, JavaScript, Python** + **Understanding of Kubernetes and deployment of distributed data pipelines include key concerns with building distributed data pipelines such as concurrency, idempotent operation, and consistency models** + Experience architecting and implementing cloud-native distributed systems with a focus on data pipelines handling 10s to 100s of TB of data per month + Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs with varied structures and building\maintaining RESTful APIs (.NET Core, FastAPI) to enable seamless access to data for internal teams and external consumers, ensuring high availability and security. + Workflow Orchestration: Implement and manage data workflows using Apache Airflow\Google Cloud Composer\Azure Data Factory to automate, schedule, and monitor data pipelines, ensuring efficient data processing and timely delivery. + Data Storage and Management: Architect and manage scalable and efficient cloud data storage solutions. Experience with open-source and cloud-native databases and data stores such as Postgres, Bigtable, and Google Cloud Storage + Data Integration: Work closely with data scientists, operational analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate data from various sources, including video/GIS, ensuring data consistency, quality, and reliability. + Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Science and Operations teams to understand data requirements.
