ActivitiesYour missions as a Back Office Analyst will include the following:
Monitoring and reconciliation of daily clearing activitiesVerification of monthly exchange/clearinghouse, clearing banks, and broker invoicesIssuance and reconciliation of spot exchange invoicesClose collaboration and coordination with other internal support functions with regards to clearing relevant topics and company-wide finance reportingSupport the implementation of new products including appropriate process documentation according to audit and compliance standards.Active monitoring of market changes and regulatory initiatives as well as their impact on the clearing areaDaily confirmation and settlement activities including Trade Checks between the confirmation or recap and the trading systems, as well as matching of confirmations from counterparties against internal systems.Implementation of new markets and products including appropriate process documentation according to audit and compliance standardsWork closely with internal and IT teams to enable the automation of confirmations as much as possibleManage a portfolio of trading counterpartsCheck traders supply accurate deal-sheets/electronic download reports for all trades validated within our in-house trading system, (the BOOK)Ensure that accurate trading information is represented within the trading BOOK by confirming deals with counterparts and brokers on a daily basisMonitor and verify exchange-traded positions and limitsReconcile the Company’s open trade equity to daily statements from our clearing housesMonitor and report financial OTC trades to the Dodd-Frank reporting regulators within 24 hours of their executionSend invoices to counterparts without exceeding deadlines set within the industry as well as contractuallyReconcile counterpart/pipeline invoices against the system in liaison with the Operations and Middle Office departments to resolve discrepanciesAgree with counterparts on settlements, provide timely payment instructions and cash forecast information to the Treasury team, and assist the accounting team with aged debt reporting and resolution and analyzing accruals;Monitor and apply payment terms and netting rules within the Simba and Contract Management systemsResponsible for pulling/analyzing settlement statements within the Simba SMS systemCheck and distribute all incoming/outgoing confirmations produced by the BOOK Confirmation Module or directly from third parties and record these against the BOOK using the Confirmation Module and chase all outstanding confirmations on a daily basisAnalyze confirmations and settlements of daily executed trades by checking pricing and volume adjustmentsOngoing onboarding of new CounterpartsAssist internally and externally with any Back Office related questionsParticipate in team and individual projects delegated by the Back Office Manager or SupervisorSupport team members and be available to help and mentor junior team membersRun management reports and ad-hoc analysisSupport, identify, and assist in implement of process & systems improvement, from system testing and implementations to desk level processIdentify and communicate operational risk, define risk mitigating measures and prioritiesDIMENSIONS

Work in the Back-Office operations in Houston, which as part of the Trading Support teams that includes TEGPNA and TGPL activities. Work across product types including natural gas, ethane, shale gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, power and emissionsProvide Support and testing on system developments, Regular internal & external audits, and regulatory obligations Context & EnvironmentFast paced trading environment requiring the jobholder to be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Position requires strong communication within the team, with other departments and externally. Both industry and contractual deadlines need to be respected to meet all of the company’s obligations.
Reconciliation of discrepancies and resolution of counterpart issues requires the jobholder to be able to seek out information necessary for problem solving. Reporting and monitoring obligations per the Dodd-Frank Act, Sarbanes-Oxley Act and to comply with other rules & regulations require diligence and attention to detail.
