Back Office Medical Assistant
Job Title: Back Office Medical AssistantJob Description The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will work in various offices to support either in the MA role or dedicated lab role. Responsibilities + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision. + Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management, examination, and treatment. + Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. + Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. + Assess emergencies and act accordingly. + Float between various office locations as patient queue demands. Essential Skills + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements. + Knowledge of basic medical terminology. + Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices. + Phlebotomy skills. + Ability to take vitals, with manual vitals preferred. + Ability to communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public. + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly. + Flexibility to float between locations. + Independence, responsibility, and organization. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma required. + 2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting. + MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience. + Phlebotomy experience required. + Active BLS certification required. + Active driver's license required. + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred. Work Environment 100% onsite: Monday thru Friday from 10:00AM-7:00PM and every other Saturday from 8:00AM-12:00PM. Floating between the following locations: Plantation, Sunrise, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale South. Permanent opportunity with travel reimbursement of $0.67/mile between clinics. If floating outside of core locations, a $20 gas card is provided. Willing to train on manual vitals. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
