In this position you will be part of a dedicated development team working for our OEM Coatings Business. The team develops applications for the value stream of product development and technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES As a backend developer, you support us in the development of applications in a modern cloud environment in an agile DevOps team.Understand, analyze, define, develop, and fulfill the defined quality requirements for the planned functionalities in close cooperation with the product owners and the development team.Design and implement the technical concepts in modern software systems (microservice architecture).Deploy and test the implementation in all the environments and create documentations of the implemented solutions.Finally, keep an eye on current technological developments and use them in your daily work.You will be working in agile and self-organized way.QUALIFICATIONS You have a degree or a comparable education in the field of computer and information science.You have professional experience working in an agile IT environment, preferable in backend development.Professional knowledge and working experience in Java >= 8Professional knowledge in SpringBoot2.xProfessional knowledge in Spring-modules like Spring-Data, Spring-Integration, Spring-Batch,Spring-SecurityProfessional knowledge in persistence technology (JPA2, Hibernate)Knowledge in unit (Junit and similar) and integration testingKnowledge in SQL databases (PostgreSQL)Knowledge in Microservice and cloud architectures (e.g. REST)Knowledge in IDE JetBrains IntelliJYou are familiar with agile DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines to deploy container-basedapplications in Docker and Kubernetes environments.Basic knowledge in Agile Tools (JIRA, Confluence, GIT/Bitbucket, Jenkins/Bamboo, AzureDevOps)You have experience in the design and implementation of a RESTful API with unit (Junit andsimilar) and integration testing.Quick comprehension, high problem-solving skills as well as excellent teamwork and flexibility.Good knowledge of English to communicate within the team.BENEFITS A secure work environment because your health, safety and wellbeing is always our top priority.Flexible work schedule and Home-office options, so that you can balance your working life and private life.Learning and development opportunities23 holiday days per year5 additional days (readjustment)2 cultural daysA collaborative, trustful and innovative work environment Being part of an international team and work in global projectsRelocation assistance to Madrid providedAt BASF, the chemistry is right.
