Position Overview:
The Bacteriology Lab Technician will be integral to our lab operations, responsible for conducting bacteriological tests and maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our processes. This role involves analyzing samples, preparing media and solutions, and ensuring all work adheres to our strict quality and safety standards. Experience is preferred, but not required -- we will train!
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Processing: Accurately process and analyze samples in a timely manner, following procedures outlined in laboratory work instructions.Inventory Management: Maintain a sufficient inventory of supplies to prevent work delays.Media Preparation: Prepare media and solutions used in the laboratory as required.Data Entry: Enter samples and results into the data management system accurately.Quality Control: Ensure the quality of work performed and the quality of the product produced.Bio-Security and Safety: Follow company policies and established procedures regarding bio-security, animal welfare, safety, ISO requirements, and drug/alcohol policy.Sample Integrity: Implement controls to preserve and protect the purity and security of samples from contamination, loss, or damage.Attendance: Ensure consistent attendance during normal working hours or as scheduled by the supervisor.Work Experience
Qualifications:
Prior laboratory experience, especially in bacteriology, is highly desirable.Lab experience (preferred, but not required)Previous veterinary experience (preferred, but not required)Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Flexibility to work varying hours and participate in weekend rotations every 3rd weekend.Schedule:
Typical working hours: 7:00/8:00 AM to 4:30/5:30 PM (subject to slight variation).Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend.$2.00 per hour incentive for weekend shifts.Application Process:
