Job Description


Our Baggage Handling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the baggage handling team. This role includes ensuring the timely, accurate, and safe handling of passenger luggage and managing and resolving operational issues. You will also be tasked with training and guiding the baggage handling staff and maintaining compliance with airport safety and security standards. Effective communication with airline staff and other airport departments is crucial to ensure a smooth baggage flow and an overall positive passenger experience.

 

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS AN BAGGAGE HANDLING SUPERVISOR

 

You like working as a team, toward a common goal Supervise the daily operations of the baggage handling team Ensure timely and accurate processing of passenger baggage Monitor adherence to baggage handling protocols and safety standards Conduct training sessions for new and existing staff on baggage handling procedures Resolve operational issues and passenger concerns regarding baggage Coordinate with airlines and airport authorities for seamless baggage transfer Implement strategies to enhance efficiency in baggage handling You have a great attention to detail You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks Supervisory skills Strong customer service skills Like to build long term relationships with your customers Physical activity may include: Stand and walk for extended periods of time Ability to lift 70 pounds or more Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum age of 18 years old Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents 2 Years Customer Service experience 1 Year Baggage Handling experience Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets Ability to pass a drug screen Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

Compensation:

The pay rate $19.29/hr listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. However, individual compensation may vary based on factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, education, and experience.
