Bakery Operations Supervisor II
Working/Functional Title Bakery Operations Supervisor II Position Summary Coordinates and supervises daily production operation. Provides direction and supervision of bakery staff and bakery production operation; and coordinates efforts of full and part time work force to successfully deliver quality products and services to a diverse clientele. Provides training and development for bakery staff. + Interviews, trains, recommends selection, and evaluates support staff and student employees. + Prepares periodic departmental reports. + Directs and controls work schedules and projects staffing needs. + Responds to inquiries and complaints in order to resolve service problems. + Participates in the resolution of employee complaints and grievances. + Makes recommendations for organizational changes and/or equipment applications. + Provides technical advice and supervises repair and maintenance of equipment. + Oversees the delivery and approves the purchasing of the Department’s/unit’s low value and infrequently purchased equipment and supplies. All positions in SLE are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school with coursework in a field related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment and may require one to three years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Qualifications Knowledge in using FSS Menu Management and System I/Power 7. Valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position. Knowledge of basic personal computer terminology and operations, and the ability to use e-mail and the internet.
