Your role as a Ball Girl:          You will be primarily responsible for fielding foul balls and creating a memorable and safe environment for our guests at Petco Park. All the responsibilities we will trust you with: * Exemplifying our Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by proactively welcoming all guests to the ballpark and connecting with guests near respective ball girl locations (1B/3B) * Seeking out foul balls and giving them to Padres Fans (particularly children) * Avoiding fair and field balls, and knowing the difference between the two * Having the ability to throw and catch a baseball up to 100 feet * Participating in Future Padres clinics and community outreach events * Assisting Event Operations department with other responsibilities during games and other special events including but not limited to promotional item distribution and assisting with concert execution Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:                        * Being consistent, punctual, and having reliable attendance * Having previous and recent organized softball experience * Having the ability to always maintain a high degree of discretion, integrity and professionalism with players, co-workers, and guests * Having prior experience in delivering a positive guest experience * Maintaining a professional appearance as outlined by the San Diego Padres Organization * Being bi-lingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not necessary You will be required to meet the following: * Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment * Minimum physical requirements: able to sit/walk/stand/run and travel to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time and in all inclement weather, including rain and/or direct sunlight; able to lift/transport up to 35 pounds * Available to work at least 30% of home games during the season * Available to work at least four (4) weekday day games (12:00 PM and/or 2:30 PM call times Monday through Friday) during the season * Must be knowledgeable about the game of baseball * Must pass an annual skills assessment test for new/continued employment * As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check. Salary and Additional Compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the pay rate for this position is $20.54 per hour. Part- time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.
