Job Description:

Location: Edgewood, Maryland

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking Bank Tellers in the Edgewood, MD area!

Under the supervision of Branch Management, the Teller is responsible for accurately processing member transactions, including cash deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other financial services. This role also involves cross-selling credit union products and services to meet members’ financial needs, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to all operational policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

– Transaction Processing: Accurately handle member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and money orders. Verify and enter transactions into the credit union system.
– Member Service: Greet members professionally and courteously. Address member needs and provide timely, efficient service in accordance with credit union procedures.
– Cash Handling: Verify and balance cash drawer daily, including night deposit and ATM settlement activities.
– Cross-Selling: Identify and recommend appropriate credit union products and services based on member needs to meet personal and branch sales goals.
– Compliance: Adhere to credit union policies, security procedures, and teller performance standards to ensure accuracy and security of all transactions.
– Fraud Prevention: Identify potential risks such as counterfeit bills, elder abuse, or fraudulent checks, and report them as needed.

Desired Background/Skills:

– Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
– Experience: Minimum 6 months of cash handling experience.
– Skills: Basic knowledge of financial services, commercial math, and data entry. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
– Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with members and team members.
– Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasked environment as part of a team.
– Flexibility: Willingness to work Saturday hours and potentially travel to other branch locations.
