Reporting to the Director of Banquets, as a Banquet Assistant Manager you will oversee the day to day running of our high volume banquet operations department, ensuring smooth and flawless service for our function and group guests. As the role requires leading a large team and liaising with a wide array of clients, you will be a solid communicator who is capable of forging great working relationships in order to create meticulous and memorable events.
What you will do:
Oversee the daily operation of the Banquets department, ensuring function rooms are set and service is carried out according to event plans
Work closely with the catering, conference services and kitchen departments to ensure the success of each function and event
Liaising with event organisers, contacts and suppliers to ensure their function or event runs smoothly and attending to any of their concerns and requests
Leading the large banquet team on a daily basis and providing leadership in the form of training, guiding, mentoring, supervising and reviewing performance to ensure an outstanding guest experience
Playing an active role in overseeing safety within a physically demanding department
What you will bring:
A minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership position within a large hotel or function centre
Proven leadership qualities
Excellent communication skills
A passion to provide an outstanding guest experience
Outstanding organisational and time management skills
A current NSW RSA certificate
