Job Description

Engaging service, delicious cuisine and distinctive surroundings make every special event a truly memorable affair. Showcase your service and organization strengths as Banquet Bartender where your attention to detail, safety and quality will help “set the stage” for a successful group function.

Hourly Rate: $29.47

What you will be doing:

Prepare daily orders for bar requisition and perishable items that are used in the daily Banquet bar operations.  (Requires review of upcoming event orders)Keep daily inventories and breakage recordsEnsure front and back of the house are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be servedDetermines when a guest should not be served additional alcoholic beverages in accordance with Maui County Liquor Commission policiesUses a cash register or point of sale system as neededMaintains close communication and works cooperatively with Banquet Management, the rest of the Banquet team and co-workers to ensure consistency of services and the highest quality of operationCraft drinks and control the beverage stock as per guidelinesSet-up, breakdown and fully stock bar with all necessary suppliesCheck service stations for necessary equipment and set up: ice, dishes, and utensils; replenish as neededEnsure the delivery of excellent service in F&B functions and meeting eventsAdhere to the State of Hawaii & State of Hawaii & EHC (Environmental Health Consultancy) food handling safety standardsMaintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any malfunctioning equipmentMaintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to our discerning guestsFocus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Qualifications
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.Must be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externally.Must possess basic computational ability.Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail functions.Must have extensive beverage knowledge (wines, liquor, beer and classic cocktails).Must be able to multi-task, be organized and be detail-oriented in a fast paced, high volume environment.Must have ability to work independently and to prioritize or seek clarification in prioritizing work assignments.Must possess superior guest service skills be a strong team player.Maintain a professional working environment and attitude.

Education:

High School diploma (or equivalent) and/or vocational training

Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of Banquet Bartending experience in a high volume operationPrevious experience in luxury hotel environment desirableMust have an in-depth knowledge of beverages, mixology techniques, cocktail history and drink recipes

Licenses or Certificates:           

TB ClearanceMaui County Liquor cardFood Safety Certification or ServSafe Certification
