Banquet Events Server (AY 25-26 C91100)

This position works directly with the Director of Institute Events and the Special Events Manager at the Office of Advancement and Roderick House events. Assist in executing events for donor cultivation, the Vice President, the community, faculty and staff, and students. These events take on a variety of formats such as receptions, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, conferences, lectures, etc. Some of the behind the scene duties include helping with set up, food prep, and clean up. Other duties include pouring beverages, serving plated meals, and assisting with check-ins. Provide support as needed to the Events Director and Manager to ensure each event runs smoothly.

Events are generally held in the evenings, mid-week, and occasional weekends. This is an on-call position so when an event is booked with a need for servers and/or bartenders, an e-mail notification will be sent to our list of on-call students. If available, simply reply to the e-mail with your desire to work the event. You will be notified within a few days if you will be working or not. You may work as little as once during the semester or as many times as there are events.

This position is compensated at the Level A rate on the MIIS student wage scale. $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
