Under the direction of the Banquet Manager and Banquet management team, the Banquet Server is responsible for providing impeccable food and beverage service, as well as properly setting up banquet rooms, in accordance with the Banquet Event Order.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Takes and delivers beverage orders as guests are seated; provides refills as necessary.
Delivers all beverage and food items to the guests on a tray. Courteously and efficiently tends to food and beverage requests from guests and notifies management if special approvals necessary. Notifies immediate supervisor of any problems or concerns.
2. Sets up room according to Banquet Event Order, 30 minutes before guest arrival. Replenishes tableware as necessary. Keeps stations fully stocked with silverware, condiments, coffee, drinks, cups, etc. Keeps trays clean and ready for use at all times. Washes and dries all serving trays daily. Responsible for completing breakdown of functions, including all off-site functions. Responsible for ensuring all banquet equipment is cleaned and returned to proper storage area following all banquet functions. Maintains cleanliness, organization and preparedness of immediate workspace and adjacent areas.
3. Assists with special projects as directed by Supervisor including, monthly meetings, special banquets, concerts, and special guests.
4. Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient operation of Department.
Education/Experience/QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.
Minimum six (6) months restaurant or catering experience required.
Must have good basic mathematical, organizational and communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Must present a neat, clean, and well groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.
Must be reliable, pleasant and possess a good attitude.
Must have a warm, inviting and engaging personality and be comfortable in an entertainment setting.
Must possess excellent customer service and communications skills.
Must be able to maintain service standards in sometimes-difficult situations.
Certificates/Licenses/RegistrationsMust be able to obtain and maintain a Class “B” Gaming License issued by the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission.
Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card and negative T.B. test.
A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company's insurance carrier.
