POSITION: Banquet Server 

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage 

REPORTS TO: Banquet Captain 

FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Across our portfolio of live event venues and corporate offices, we are looking for a Banquet Server in the F & B department at the Broward County Convention Center. This position will provide a high-quality catering service for banquet events.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Assist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event.  

Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads.  

Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.  

Assist with preparation and set-up of event room when necessary.  

Prepare tables with place settings as instructed.  

Establish and maintain positive client relationships.  

Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event.  

Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area.  

Other duties as assigned.  

 

Education and/or Experience           

High School degree/GED or equivalent is required.  

At least one year of experience in a Food & Beverage environment. 

 

Skills and Abilities   

Strong ability to work with other staff members in the facility. 

Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks. 

Must adhere to local Food Codes. 

The position is very hands on with excessive interaction with staff. 

Must have good oral, customer service and interpersonal skills.  

Must pay attention to detail.  

Must be results and self-driven.  

Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

This position requires stooping and lifting. Substantial standing, walking, and pushing and or pulling of equipment. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. to the waste. 

Daily lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. up to 10 minutes at a time. 

Constantly reaching, standing, walking, and stooping. 

Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination. 

Position requires walking and standing regularly. 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
