JOB DESCRIPTION The Banquet Server will be responsible for setting up and tearing down the event space to the specifications outlined in the BEO (Banquet Event Orders). COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting at $13.00 plus applicable tip payout – Paid biweekly (every two weeks) Extensive health benefits paid time off, retirement, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts at hundreds of US and international properties. SCHEDULE: The hospitality industry is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days of the year. All candidates must be available and are expected to work Texas A&M football game days, Ring Days, graduations, and other high occupancy times due to special events. We strive hard to manage and minimalize overtime, but it should and will be expected when business levels call for it. Part-time: 8-29 hours per week depending on business forecast. Full-time: 30-40 hours per week depedning on business forecast. Days of week/weekend and shift times scheduled will vary depending on business forecast and server availability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Setting up events (but not limited to): moving tables around as needed, setting tables with the appropriate silverware and pre-set any food and beverage according to the BEO, setting table cloths, setting center pieces, making silverware rollups, setting food equipment on the buffet line, communicating with kitchen staff to grab food to be placed on buffet lines or to be served directly to guests Service may vary but is not limited to: carrying out hot food from the kitchen and/or hotbox to the buffet line(s), carrying trays with multiple plates for plated meal service, serve food, maintaining a buffet line and/or beverage station, offering wine service and clear the food from the tables Break down to include bussing tables, wiping down tables, cleaning food holding equipment, putting away dirty linens and centerpieces, vacuuming. Responsibilities also include cleaning the back of banquet hallway and meeting rooms/spaces, organizing and maintaining cleanliness of pantries and equipment Performs food & beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee and/or tea and ensuring workstations are stocked Carrying and serving food and beverages while walking around an event room/space Cleaning and sanitizing food prep areas, service trays, and nesting tables Able to offer general property information to guests Always smiling and answering guests/clients’ questions with a positive attitude. Interact with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information Giving the guest the best experience possible by going above and beyond Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Two years food and beverage experience preferred Excellent customer service skills Able to be on their feet for extended periods of time Able to lift at least 35lbs Positive attitude Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $13.00/Hr. - $17.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
