The Prep/Bar Back will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Bay Street Yard service standards and Mainsail Lodging & Development standards. The Bar Back will also be responsible for helping all other staff and operations to maintain a well-organized, clean, and well-stocked outlet. Friendly interactions with patrons will be required, but the focus will be on the support staff position.
Required availability from 4pm-4am on Friday's and Saturdays. Operational hours on Sundays.
What you have
High school diploma, equivalent, or higher
Previous hospitality experience
Minimum 1-year experience working in a restaurant or bar setting
Knowledge and experience with beer, wine, and liquor
Customer service experience
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience working on a team in a hospitality setting
Ability to use technology, e.g., computers, tablets, iPads, and POS
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
A sense of ownership in everything that you do
What you’ll do
Provide service to bartenders in a timely manner
Prepare beverage garnishes and mixes
Ensure proper stocking and rotation of beer, liquor, wine, and consumable items
Clean glasses, utensils, tools, and other bar equipment
Run food from kitchen to bar and bar area to ensure guests receive their food in a timely manner
Provide guests with menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation, and prices
Maintain opening and closing par levels for beer, wine, liquor, and consumables
Assist in the receiving and unloading of bar items. Ensure proper stocking
Maintain a clean and organized bar, cooler, and bar storage area
Other necessary duties as reasonably assigned by the manager
