**What would I be doing?** It is the responsibility of the bartender to train the bar back in the operation of each bar. The bartender is expected to teach the bar back to be a bartender. **Responsibilities** _(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)_ + Responsible for Boyd Gaming method of preparing drinks. + Must know Boyd Gaming method of approaching, greeting and serving guests. + Responsible for performing all cleaning and stocking functions for the dry goods and liquor rooms as listed below: + You must have all beer kegs, wine boxes, soda tanks and co2 tanks changed and operating at all times. In addition, by the end of the shift, all empties must be returned and replaced. + You must know what chemicals are to be put in the glass washers and sinks, and always have them supplied. + The sink washer must always be clean, at a temperature of 140°, and with the correct sanitizers added. + Plastic cups must be in full supply. + The cleaning schedule must be adhered to and monitored. + Fruit and condiment trays should be clean, filled and properly rotated. + Coolers should be neatly stocked and rotated. + Fruit, milk, etc. must be kept off the floor in the walk-in coolers. + Towels must be properly moistened and folded into sanitizer buckets for the oncoming shift. + All items must be stocked at the bar for the next shift; ice, stir sticks, swords, creamers, sugar, etc. + The dolly must be stored away where it won’t be in the way of customers and team members. + Must learn to act without supervision. + Must learn to accept the responsibility of running the bar and to make decisions that need to be made; will develop a professional initiative prior to a permanent promotion to bartender. + Responsible for successful completion of TIPS training class (responsible service of alcohol), RU21, and compliance courses when required. **What are we looking for?** _(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)_ + Must know all drink recipes. + Must know the proper glass to use for each drink. + Responsible for learning the operation of liquor, soda and juice guns. + Types, classes and brand names of the products we offer for sale and what to offer a guest in the event he orders an item we do not offer. + Must know the operation of the cash and comp procedures; blenders, strainers, coffee makers, glass washers and coolers. + Must have some bar knowledge. + Able to lift 100 pounds. + Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. + Able to communicate sufficiently with team member and supervisors. + Work well under minimal supervision. + Ability to multi task + Must have a friendly, outgoing personality **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):** Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions Must successfully pass background check Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening Must be 21 years of age **CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUIREMENT** Delivers superior internal and external guest service in Boyd Style. **What would it be like to work at this property?** Overlooking the Missouri River, this 130,000 square-foot casino and AAA Four Diamond full-service luxury suite hotel is in historic St. Charles.
