Bartender

Job Overview:

 

The Bartender develops the beverage menus, beverage purchase specifications and drink recipes. They supervise production staff. They develop and monitor food and labor budget for the department. Provides a friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. 

 

Compensation: $20-25/hr

 

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

 

Your Responsibilities:

Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons. Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks. Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations. Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails. Plan and present bar menu Wine knowledge helpful Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age. Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies. Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience. Comply with all food and beverage regulations. Run food from kitchen to table and provide table service. Provide excellent customer service.

Skills & Qualifications:

Computer literacy Knowledge of a second language is a plus but not required Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends. Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

Education & Experience:

Work experience as a server or bartender State certified and/or Serve Safe certified. Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

Read and write in English Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers with or without the use of two-way radios. Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions. Supervise subordinates as needed. Visually inspect all work areas. Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages. Stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time. Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly

Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.  May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, sharp and rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.

 

Tools & Equipment Used:

General office machines such as personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, POS equipment, credit card terminals etc. Kitchen equipment includes but not limited to Stove, Fryer, Ovens, Cookers, Chillers, Freezers, Keg machines etc.
