For more information on what we are about as a company, check us out by following the link below: http://www.levyrestaurants.com/who-we-are/ Job Summary Follow proper serving procedures for beer, wine and liquor while serving orders solicited by bar patrons and the wait staff for guests. No "huddling" or extended conversation among team members is allowed while on duty. Interact with guests to solicit order. Maintain a clean and orderly front and back bar area by removing unnecessary items from both bar areas throughout entire shift. Follow through with guests to prepare a final check; clearly displaying items ordered, individual prices, and final total (cash bar only). At start of shift, have sanitizer buckets setup with proper PPM and temperature. Check cooler temperatures on a daily basis. Report to manager any temperatures that are too low or too high. Collect payment for check, making proper change, and completing transaction with guest. Ensure products (beer, soft drinks, etc.) are rotated and have proper code dates. Take inventory at the beginning and end of each shift, this information needs to be placed on the yield sheet given out at each shift . Accurate starting, ending and transfers need to be noted. The sheet must be signed at the end of the shift by the bartender and spot checked by the manager. Have fruit and other condiments ready for start of shift Ensure proper labeling on items received. At end of shift, remove garbage and recycling from behind the bar and put in appropriate area in pantry Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines. Always keep a watchful eye for objects on the floor that might endanger the guests and other employees. Butter, water, ice or broken glass that may have fallen on the floor should be cleaned up immediately. Whenever possible clean, clear, and stock the bar and cocktail area. Set up portable bars on a nightly basis. Close and clean entire bar area at end of shift (after guests have left room). Inventory bar and have bar fully stocked, supplied, and ready for shift. Have bank counted, balanced, and ready for shift (when applicable). Assist in the setup and breakdown of non-banquet areas when they will be used for banquet functions Assist in resetting the banquet rooms for the following game day including: Governor’s Room, NBA/NHL, Skyline Assist in resetting non banquet rooms when a banquet function is being held in those locations. Prepare requisition for porter at the end of the shift. And anything else requested of you by management opening and closing duties Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability: a. Language Skills: Ability to interact verbally with guests and co-workers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members of the organization. b. Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Other: Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. c. Computer Skills: The individual must have the ability to work with various in-house computer programs. d. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instruction. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to judge the intoxication level of people. a. Additional Physical Demands: The team member may be required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell for up to 1/3 of the work day and stand, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms for 2/3 or more of the work day.
