ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Junior Nautical Manager plays a key role in the Nautical Service Center (NSC), reporting directly to the Senior Nautical Manager. You will take ownership of and support projects from start to finish, optimize crew scheduling, manage port and waste bookings, create budget models, enhance operational efficiency, and — all while learning from industry leaders and making a real impact. We seek someone curious, proactive, and ready to delve into the exciting world of nautical operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Key stakeholder for a group of apprentices, communicating and documenting their learning
• and development journey
• Proactively engage with crew members, ensuring their schedules and needs are met
• Become a “super-user” in various optimization software (crew and port cost models)
• Research and suggest cost-saving ideas — and track their impact
• Follow up on crew scheduling practices and suggest improvements
• Manage multiple tasks with strong administrative and project management skills
• Work confidently with senior stakeholders and take ownership of responsibilities
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong administration skills and project management abilities
• Minimum one/two years of experience either in a similar role or in a leading consulting firm
• Robust analytical skillset, self-learner, curious, and a critical thinker
• Good communicator, with excellent presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize time allocation across multiple projects to meet
• deadlines
• Systematic and structured approach to tasks
• Adaptability to changing plans and new challenges
• A can-do attitude and motivation to drive improvements
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent English and German skills
