ROLE DESCRIPTION
• We are currently seeking a candidate with a background in Engineering or Efficiency Management. The focus of the role will be on fleet monitoring processes, fuel consumption, waste management optimization, and engineering development within the nautical infrastructure team. In addition to these projects, the Nautical Manager is expected to assist with other implementations and daily operations within the Locks & Docks Department as needed

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Nautical Managers team is responsible for supporting the operations of the nautical department. This encompasses office support, data analytics, daily operations, planning, compliance, recruitment, and training. The team members handle specific tasks and projects, which may change regularly.
The Nautical Manager – Efficiency is responsible for:
• Responsible for monitoring and communicating fleet fuel consumption and emissions.
• Constantly engage and seek efficiency enhancements with ship captains and engineers online and during visits to promote collaboration for efficient voyages
• Develops and maintains the efficiency reporting tool and fuel dashboard
• Enhance the Efficiency Manuel providing tools and information to and from the fleet
• Analyzing and identifying efficiency gaps and advising on possible improvements
• Administrating the AEC fleet and marine traffic monitoring tools
• Support the nautical team with Viking's Safety Management System under ISO standardization (focused on Environmental Management), including risk assessments and legal cadasters. Coordinate and participate in audits (safety, technical equipment, environmental) and certification processes
Locks & Docks support during peaks and deviations
• Supporting in managing deviations
• Booking docking locations and disposal management
Engineer Education and Training
• Alignment With Nautical Instructor Engineer on training topics for the Engineers Academy
Technical Support the Nautical Department
• Leads technical projects and Implementation of equipment VDR, ECDIS, AEC
• Account management
• Supports the OPC daily setup
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in the maritime industry
• Extensive experience related to the Rhine/Main/Danube River sailing routes and requirements
• Proven Project Management experience
• Proactive and precise communicator, creation of media would be an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 focus on Power BI, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities
• Fluency in English and German would be an asset
• Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a team
• Strong business acumen, exceptional work ethic, and customer orientation
• Reliable and stress-resistant
• Must be able to travel internationally
• Analytical skills would be an asset
• Must be willing to travel internationally for up to 10% of the time

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering
