BASIS and iSeries Administrator

This is a dual role focusing on BASIS and iSeries administration.

BASIS Administration

Role and Responsibilities:

Manage the configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems.Strictly adhere to all procedures to comply with audit and military requirements.Monitor and optimize SAP system performance and availability.Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP Basis issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless SAP system integration.Maintain and update documentation of SAP system configurations and procedures.Provide support for SAP user administration, security, and authorizations.Manage the Transport System, RFC connections, IDOCs, and printers.

iSeries Administration

Role and Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain customer and internal hosted AS/400 (IBM iSeries) systems.Perform system configurations, upgrades and patches, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of the AS/400 infrastructure while maintaining proper documentation.Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.Implement and maintain backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.Perform regular integrity checks of backup data.Analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements.Optimize system configurations for enhanced performance and reliability.Monitor system resources and capacity, addressing any bottlenecks or issues.Provide technical support regarding AS/400 issues.Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems.Implement and enforce security policies to protect the AS/400 systems from unauthorized access and threats, while monitoring system logs.Work closely with other IT teams to integrate AS/400 systems with other technologies.Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.Prepare and deliver reports on system performance, issues, and improvements.

Requirements:

Must have BASIS & HANA DB knowledge, at least 3 years of experience.Must be willing to manage the iSeries. Training will be provided. This will be approximately 50% of responsibilities.Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed as maintenance activities often occur during non-business hours.
