Scope of Responsibility:

Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for the planning and execution of the productivity of the department. Ensure the overall efficacy of the department and assist plant manager with day to day operation.

 

Essential Duties:

Orders materialsFigures concrete amountsOrder concrete batches through Command AlkonLoad material for concreteCommunicate with Lead/Crew on concrete yardagePerform daily pre-inspections and on-going maintenance checks on loaders and trucksPull and break concrete samplesMaintain a clean and orderly work environmentPerform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules and standardsPerform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements: 

High school diploma, or equivalentTraining in vocational schools or related on-the-job experience preferedConsiderable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in concrete construction and maintenance.Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment3-5 years previous batch plant operation experience preferredMust be able to read and understand blue printsSkill in the use and care of hand and small power tools associated with the work.Must be able to work efficiently without supervisionAbility to pay close attention to detailConcrete mix designACI Certification a plus

 

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Must be able to lift up to 75 poundsMust be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materialsMust be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekendsPosition requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individualMust be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noiseMust have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
