Job Summary
The Batter Breader Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Batter/Breader/ABC/Wilevco, and all other specified equipment in a safe manner, while maintaining quality specifications and production standards set by each line.
Job Functions
Essential Functions:
Comprehend and utilize the batter and breading equipment in accordance with the training manual and competency program.
Make adjustments when percentages are not in accordance with standard.
Order, issue, and return raw materials from current system.
Perform QC checks to include raw material check, viscosity, percent, count per pound, color match, etc.
Keep front of the line running to maximize line efficiency.
Remove waste from line and maintain good housekeeping
Accurate and timely completion of required documentation.
Assist in freezer set-up in accordance with the Process Safety Management procedures.
Assist in the fryer set-up according to Fryer Operating Procedures
Troubleshoot mechanical problems and coordinate with Production Supervisor, Line Leader, and maintenance to resolve issues
Operate powered industrial vehicle(s)
Reconcile paperwork to match items brought to the line and verify coating sequence.
Perform sanitation on assigned equipment and work area. Must perform be able to perform Assembly/Operation/Disassembly procedures.
Follow proper safety and GMP guidelines
Perform minor repairs to the production line as needed.
Follow, complete and return Operator Checklist
Other Job Duties:
Work area maintained to be a safe and clean environment at all times.
Coordinate work duties with Production Supervisor when there is down time.
May assist Line Leader with his/her daily functions such as setting up/change-overs, line assignments for inspectors or pepper placers.
Participate in Handoffs and Huddles
Other duties as assigned by Line Leads and/or Production Supervisors.
Working Conditions
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, food fumes, airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and loud noise levels.
Job Qualification Requirements
Mental
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, comprehend and communicate in English and interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense comprehending to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions with minimal guidance, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Strong ability to work independently or/and with others.
Skill and Knowledge
6+ months of experience in a manufacturing setting operating machinery preferred.
6+ months experience on multiple lines
Knowledge of sanitation on designated equipment.
Maintain SPC certification as required.
Maintain equipment re-certification as required.
Maintain quality audit certification as required.
