Functional & Technical Knowledge
The minimum requirements we seek
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. 10-15+ years of experience in Manufacturing battery processing and related technologies. Experience in program execution and manufacturing plant leadership is key. Demonstrated leadership in executing and implementing large-scale projects. Outstanding knowledge of battery process equipment, statistical methods, and problem solving. A collaborative leadership style is necessary to influence and build meaningful relationships between JV (Joint Venture) Partner, JV and Ford executives.Our preferred requirements
Master's or advanced degree preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement. A charismatic communicator that can articulate a clear vision and mission and inspire others. Ability to work within high degrees of ambiguity, developing processes and procedures concurrent with the work, while also demonstrating an ability to deliver objectives.

The increased scope for the battery manufacturing engineering (BME) organization requires a dedicated leader to drive onsite implementation of the work at cell and pack sites across KY, TN, MI. This role will provide the necessary direction and support needed to deliver a broad scope of work: mega cell facilities and 5+ pack assembly systems across North America. The growth of the hybrid cycle plan adds incremental vertical integration direct workload for the organization. This position will manage the scope and statement of work currently estimated at approximately $2-3B.
The Battery Manufacturing Engineering Implementation Chief will inspire and motivate our technology and engineering teams by leveraging emerging technologies, best in class manufacturing systems and safety processes as well as champion Ford’s leadership behaviors to shape a lean high performing culture to ensure Ford and BME remains a workplace of choice now and into the future.
This person will:
Lead coordination efforts of a cross-functional team to achieve the goal of successful implementation of the new onsite program.Resolve resource conflicts and establish priorities between BME, General Contractor, construction, BOSK, SK and plant teams. Chair site-based reviews per time and data management and support all program governance reviews. Milestone Reviews Executive Program Business Review Program Leadership Alignment Meeting Engineering Meetings Directly manage resources for day-to-day program delivery. Program control and delivery, including metrics tracking, cost / long lead funding, timing, issue resolution, Liaise with New Model Launch on program delivery. Support Manufacturing Engineering OK to Build / Buy (OKTB) process for all program milestones. Lead development of all Implementation budgets to ensure all targets can be met. Be the single point of contact for all onsite activity related to Installation / support commissioning and PV readiness. Actively participate in difficult decision-making forums as required. Drive daily priority and measure progress to KPI’s.Develop Resource Requirements - hire and assign resources to support manufacturing programs and business objectives. Support MTO planning and implementation. Support equipment run-off, installation, debugs plans. Lead, coach, and counsel all engineers and other program resources. Support layout reviews and release level approvals. Ensure proper "Manage the Change" process is in place at site to approve / track and ensure appropriate cost controls are in place and budgets are available.Approve changes to defined delegation of authority. Ensure appropriate staff levels to deliver program objectives.Lead PSW preparation activities (including coordinating successful delivery of PSW / TT parts at PVMRD/ TT.Successfully transition the facility from Installation / Power on Completion to debug and commissioning to support Production readiness. Provide technical expertise as required. Assess employee competencies and support Individual Development Plans; conduct training classes on various topics as required. Lead, mentor, coach, counsel, recognize and motivate employees.
