About the Site

The Battery Storage sites range from the Phoenix area to Yuma.

Position Overview

As a Battery Storage Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Battery Storage project sites.  Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) help balance the supply and demand of energy.  BESS work by timing their charging and discharging with the demands of the grid.

Responsibilities

Perform routine mechanical, electrical maintenance and inspections on associated equipmentWearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a battery storage facility and associated equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace componentsMaintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environmentWork a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periodsSupport BESS and Solar sites throughout the Phoenix and Yuma areas.

Required Skills

High School Diploma or equivalent requiredOne (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weatherAbility to climb / work safely from a portable step ladderAbility to understand directions, follow procedures, and complete tasks with minimal oversightEffective communication skills both written and verbalAbility to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.10% travelEligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Skills

EPA certification preferredCommercial HVAC experienceExperience with PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoringExperience in an industrial environment dealing with machine repair and maintenance (Manufacturing, Automotive, Food Processing, Automation, Facilities) as a maintenance technician, electrician, electronic tech, field engineer or technician, service tech, etc.Experience with the operation of various SCADA systemsSkilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, I-V Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault DetectionStrong Analytical and Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems foundKnowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard practicesAbility to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams / schematicsProficiency with MS Office suite
