Job Title: Battery Systems EngineerJob Description The Battery Systems Engineer will focus on advanced battery technologies for the next generation of zero-emission mining equipment and infrastructure. This role requires working cross-functionally with both internal and external teams. It is primarily integration-focused, with designs provided by a partner and R&D facility, but there is room for optimization. The engineer will work on high-voltage trucks operating in extreme temperatures, from -50C to 50C, and will also work with hydrogen battery products. Responsibilities + Experience with Battery Systems Integration + Design and develop new battery systems and technologies + Conduct performance and safety tests on battery systems + Analyze and interpret test data, preparing technical reports and documentation + Work with manufacturing processes to ensure production efficiency and quality + Identify and solve technical issues related to battery performance and lifespan + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to deliver optimized battery solutions + Adhere to and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations + Stay updated with the latest advancements in battery technology and integrate them into product designs when feasible + Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through design and process improvements + Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies Essential Skills + Experience with electric drive systems and battery systems integration + Proficiency in software such as Matlab & Simulink and Creo + Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in automotive, construction, or agriculture industries + Experience with OEM Battery Drive Systems and Electric Drive Systems + Understanding how to integrate a battery system Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ownership experience in a role, with a minimum of two and a half to three years of tenure with a company Work Environment The work environment consists of an office setting with a new state-of-the-art office building expected to be completed by November 2025. The flexible work policy requires being onsite three days a week, with an initial period of five days a week for the first three months before transitioning to the flexible schedule. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $62.50 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
