Battery Systems Engineer
Job Description Our large Manufacturing client is looking for a Battery Systems Engineer to sit on-site in Peoria, IL. The Battery Systems Engineer will focus on advanced battery technologies for the next generation of zero emission mining equipment and infrastructure. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  Battery Systems Integration.  Design and develop new battery systems and technologies.  Conduct performance and safety tests on battery systems.  Analyze and interpret test data, preparing technical reports and documentation.  Work with manufacturing processes to ensure production efficiency and quality.  Identify and solve technical issues related to battery performance and lifespan.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to deliver optimized battery solutions.  Adhere to and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.  Stay updated with the latest advancements in battery technology and integrate them into product designs when feasible.  Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through design and process improvements.  Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies. Skills and Requirements 3-5 years of experience with industrial machinery, construction, or mining equipment  Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering  C or C++ programming experience  Great communication will be collaborating with suppliers and vendors to get the system up and running  Experience in cooling system design  Experience in design, development, testing, and integration of batteries and battery management systems into mobile applications  Experience with battery management system HIL testing  Experience in development of battery equivalent circuit, thermal and aging models using Matlab/Simulink  Experience with rectifiers, inverters, power control systems, and chargers null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
