Battle Captain - Mid Shift / Wed-Sat

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The role of the Battle Captain is to oversee and direct daily operational processes and procedures in accordance with direction given by all levels of management.Supervises the staff on shift, ensures compliance with policies and procedures and monitors the staff’s daily work.Analyzes and maintains operational data and briefs all teams on high visibility issues that occurred on the previous shift.Responsible for operational and physical security of the operational area to include verifying security clearances for visitors in DISS physical security system.Operates classified and unclassified computer workstations, phones, and VTCs. Monitors operational dashboards for system statuses, such as VMware Operations, Network Common Operational Picture (NETCOP) and close circuit security system.Responsible for approving, tasking, tracking, or creating ITSM tickets during their shift.Has the authority to task technical team members to address issues that are not clearly defined in team’s roles and responsibilities. Based upon the severity of the issue, the Battle Captain has the authority to task a member that has the appropriate access and level of knowledge to accomplish the task.If a situation arises that impacts operations, such as a Commanders Critical Incident Report (CCIR), the Battle Captain will follow the CCIR GEFS3 procedures.

Battle Captain main functions:

Manage the Operations floor.Direct troubleshooting efforts for impacted services.Provide updates to all levels of leadership, government, contractor, or military leadership.Document and update daily briefing document.Conduct daily briefing as needed.Create, track, close all Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI’s) impacting services.Track any ASI’s submitted by outside agency that may impact services.Monitor phone calls, active bridge line, Microsoft Teams chats, and group emails impacting operations.Conducts Incident Management as the initial triage for users requesting assistance via phone calls, ITSM Tickets, or emails concerning GEFS3 issues and will create and assign ITSM Tickets as needed.Will float to fill in for other Battle Captains when they are on leave, call in sick, or have military duty. Floating should be less than 30%.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree: Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems or equivalent years of work experience
● Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience
● Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain a final SECRET clearance
● Required Skills and Abilities: Communication, Problem solving, Tracking of tickets in ticket system

The likely salary range for this position is $60,549 - $70,150. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
