Overview
The Behavior Treatment Technician at Genesee Community Services plays a crucial role in providing behavioral intervention services to individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges in a clinic setting. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) the Behavior Treatment Technician implements behavior intervention plans and provides direct support to clients, contributing to their overall progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities for a Behavior Technician
- Direct Client Support: Provide one-on-one support to clients during therapy sessions, helping them develop adaptive behaviors and skills.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Accurately record and track client behavior and progress during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity for analysis by the supervising BCBA.
- Behavioral Observation: Observe client behavior closely, identifying triggers and patterns to inform treatment strategies.
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Execute strategies outlined in BIPs designed by the supervising BCBA to address behavioral goals and objectives.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with supervisors, team members, and caregivers regarding client progress, concerns, and any relevant information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges preferred
- Expereince with children/adolescents required
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping individuals with special needs achieve their full potential.
- Prefer candidates with reliable Transportation, valid Driver's License, and proof of Auto Insurance
