As a Behavioral Crisis Center Technician you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises or substance abuse issues. Our BCCT’s work under the supervision of licensed professionals to provide emotional support, monitor patient behavior, and assist with daily living activities. Additionally, they may help facilitate group therapy sessions, lead recreational activities, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Support
Provide emotional support and validation to patients in crisisMonitor patient behavior, mood, and emotional stateAssist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and groomingHelp patients develop coping skills and strategies to manage their symptomsSafety and Risk Management
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patientsIdentify and report potential safety risks or hazardsIntervene in crisis situations, such as suicidal or violent behaviorAssist with de-escalation techniques to reduce conflictDocumentation and Communication
Document patient behavior, progress, and any incidents or concernsCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and treatment teamsProvide updates on patient status and progress to licensed professionalsParticipate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient careGroup and Activity Leadership
Lead or co-lead group therapy sessions, educational programs, or recreational activitiesDevelop and implement activity plans to promote patient engagement and socializationEncourage patient participation and engagement in group activitiesProfessional Development and Training
Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills and knowledgeStay up-to-date on best practices, policies, and proceduresAttend workshops, conferences, and seminars to enhance professional developmentEducation and/or Experience Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GEDMust be at least 21 years of agePreferred but not required – Experience and/or degree in a Human Services fieldPhysical Requirements:
ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exerts up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
